Entry form
Judging for Ms. Fitness Rocky Mountain/ Colorado/ Mile High
Top 3 qualify for Ms. Fitness USA & $20,000 in prizes - televised on Fox Net Sports

All competitors are judged in three distinct rounds of competition:
Round 1:
STRENGTH, FLEXIBILITY & ENDURANCE
(fitness wear)

Ms. Fitness must demonstrate strength, flexibility, and endurance in an original fitness routine (no longer than 90 seconds). She may incorporate any skill or talent she may possess. She should demonstrate a high level of execution of movements, including full extension. Her routine should "appear" effortless. She should include a diversity of routine elements with a high degree of complexity and difficulty.
Round 2:
PHYSICAL BEAUTY & MUSCLE TONE
(swimwear)

Ms. Fitness should have good to excellent muscle tone with clean, tight lines. She should appear to have reasonable levels of body fat. Her physique should look as if it was constructed through proper diet and fitness training. Her physique should appear evenly developed, displaying her attention to a totally fit body. Her great legs with lean thighs should "match" her beautifully sculpted arms and slender waist to create a very feminine appearance. Ms. Fitness is no waif or muscle bound beast, but has pushed herself to the glorious fulfillment of the female body.

Round 3:
POISE & PROJECTION
(evening gown)

Each competitor is evaluated on her overall grooming, cosmetic appeal and public address skills. Ms. Fitness must demonstrate confidence and be comfortable with an audience. She must be able to speak clearly and concisely. Ms. Fitness must be capable of being a spokesperson for the fitness industry. Ms. Fitness is much more than just a pretty face, she must convince the judges that she has an important message to convey about living a healthy lifestyle, in addition to showing poise and grace under stress. (speech is only 30-60 seconds maximum)

It is important to note that Ms. Fitness inspires and motivates viewers unlike any other fitness movement for several reasons. The women who participate in Ms. Fitness are "every woman." The average age is 29. The majority are married and raising children. They come from every walk of life, and work in every occupation imaginable. They are dedicated and committed women who have embraced a fit and healthy lifestyle, and are able to articulate their choice in a very relateable manner, and visually demonstrate the results.

Shape & symmetry – 50%
MORNING COMPETITION FORMAT
a) Wearing swimsuits and high heels, contestants enter individually from offstage, go to the back center stage X (point A on diagram) and hit a pose. Contestants walk to front center stage X (point B on diagram) and perform a model turn to show your back. (i.e.- pivot turn or a music box turn). They then walk to the X’s (point C & D on diagram) marked at the front left and right of the stage with the option of performing model turns at either X's. They will join the line-up being built across the stage (or off stage at promoter’s request). As contestants appear, they will be introduced by number, name, and any other information from their biography sheets the mc chooses to use.
b) Once the line-up is completed, the competitors are turned over to the head judge (the head judge directs the competitors on stage, but does not judge). The head judge will then direct the competitors through quarter turns and comparisons for the benefit of the judges. (You will be judged during the quarter turns in a relaxed state and also with flexed type posing quarter turns to allow each competitor to show their physiques.) When the judges have completed their evaluations, the contestants will leave the stage to change into their themed active wear. (NOTE: All tallying of scores is to be completed after prejudging to expedite the tallying of the final score for the evening show. Although the competitors will make an appearance in swimwear and active wear during the evening show for the benefit of the audience, no additional scoring will be done at the evening show unless there is a tie from the morning competition)
* Please note that contestants in the Ms. Fitness category will only be judged in relaxed quarter turn poses (no flexing)

Ms. Physique: Themed Activewear Round - 50% of Score

You have a chance to show your modeling talents and your creativity. Just like in the swimsuit round you will be asked to walk from one side of the stage to the other performing quarter turns at a specific point outlined on stage (refer to walking diagram). The themed apparel you select should best represent your character, personality, athletic interests and/or any other appearance you're comfortable wearing. Just make sure it compliments your body. Before you go on stage relax, enjoy your presentation and remember to smile.
Contestants must provide a brief description of their outfit in the Themed Sportswear Round. This is an opportunity for contestants to get creative with their costume and also mention the clothing sponsor, if any. No offensive costumes will be allowed (see through tops, etc.)
Poise & Overall Appearance - 50%
Sports Wear Selection & Stage Presentation - 50%

Contestants have the opportunity to complete their own mc sheet describing their active wear. It will be read during the morning competition and during the evening show.
b) Quarter turns are done in line up and contestants in their active wear are judged in comparisons for the benefit of the judges.

Strength & Fitness Skills Competition
Strength & Fitness Skills Competition will consist of the following:
Box Jumps - (This is a timed event.) This event will be performed using a 20 inch box. The athlete will jump until 50 repetitions are completed. The clock will stop when the athlete completes repetition number 50. Both feet must make contact with any portion of the top of the box (not edge). Bench Press - (50 Reps is a perfect score of 10) This event will be performed using 60 percent of the athlete's body weight. Weight will be rounded off to the closest 5 pounds. If the weight falls in the exact middle between 2 weights then the highest weight will be used. The bar must touch the chest at the bottom of the repetition and the arms must be completely extended to complete the repetition. Feet must be kept on the floor and backside must stay in contact with the bench. Pausing on the bottom of the repetition is not mandatory. Scoring will start at 5.0 and each rep will be given a tenth of a point. Ex: 7 reps = 5.7; 50 reps = 10.0 (perfect score.)
Push-ups - The athlete will perform push-ups until complete failure (max. time is 30 seconds). The chest must touch the floor and arms must be fully extended at the top. (Special calculations will be made for final score)
(The scores will be added up from the 3 curriculums and then averaged.)
